2025 GMSA COLLOQUIUM
Investigating Music and its Meanings
Is music utilitarian, social, a means of communication, a commodity, an expression of despair, a source of hope?
This year’s Colloquium invites you to ask - and to seek to answer – these and other questions from the perspectives of (ethno)musicology, music theory, cultural studies, music industries, performance studies, studies on music and artificial intelligence, anthropology, communication studies, music therapy, and more.
Keynote speaker: Dr. Casey Mecija
